Design Concept

The work Tension Within explores the invisible tension hidden inside soft, organic forms. Two curved shell-like volumes lean against one another, separated by a precise slit. The smooth, continuous surface wraps the mass, yet the split creates a quiet conflict between wholeness and fracture.

It speaks to the duality of existence: intact on the exterior, with subtle division resting within. The flowing contour rejects rigid geometric rules, inspired by natural bends found in rocks and living organisms.
Crafted in Corten steel, the slowly evolving rust patina mirrors how inner tension changes gently over time.
The sculpture balances weight and lightness, inviting viewers to pause and observe how negative space shapes the form itself.

Made from Corten weathering steel, the sculpture features a rich warm rust patina. The material naturally develops and deepens its texture over time when placed outdoors, forming a protective rust layer against corrosion. It works beautifully both indoors for gallery, living room, lobby display and outside as a statement garden / yard art installation.

This artwork is a limited edition run of only 10 pieces total. Studio photographs show the physical artwork. Environment images are digital composites illustrating possible placement; they are not photographs of completed installations and are not a measurement reference. Display plinths, furniture, architecture and landscaping shown in the environment images are not included.
Pieces 2–10 can be custom-sized to meet your space requirements. Each sculpture comes with a signed certificate of authenticity to record the edition number.

Shipping & Packaging

The sculpture will be securely packed in heavy-duty wooden crates to prevent damage in transit. International shipping is available. Tracking number will be provided once your order ships. Lead time applies for custom-sized works.

Safety Note

Corten steel surface may leave minor rust stains on light-colored flooring or surfaces. For indoor placement, use a base or protective pad underneath. Edges are finished smooth, but please handle with care. Keep away from small children.
